“I like the cafés in the Old Town”

Tomoko Yamane from Tokyo, Japan is accustomed to getting to know new countries and cultures. She lived for a long time in the USA. Now the IT specialist with an internationally active German pharmaceuticals company is working for six months near Mainz. In her free time she meets colleagues and friends in the cafés and pubs of the Old Town. Her great passion is classical music, so she often goes to Frankfurt am Main where she plays the violin in an orchestra. At the weekends Tomoko Yamane watches football as an avid supporter of the German Bundesliga club 1st FSV Mainz 05. She enjoys life in Mainz. She says the city has an interesting history and is a great place to saunter and shop. Whilst she’s here, she wants to improve her German. “I try to learn as much as possible.”
