“Our meeting centre is situated in the middle of Wittenberg’s old town – from here you can see All Saints’ Church, to which Martin Luther fastened his theses nearly 500 years ago. Since 2015, as the International Lutheran Society of Wittenberg, we have been represented with our own meeting place. As Director, I coordinate all our programmes: we offer space for courses and conferences, and also have rooms for 24 guests. Many visitors come from the United States like me, while others come from Ethiopia, Brazil, South Africa and other countries. We expect an especially large number of visitors in 2017 for the anniversary of the Reformation. I am looking forward to that – I love getting to know people and bringing them together. When I’m not working, I enjoy walking along the banks of the Elbe, attending my dancing course or visiting friends all over Germany. I studied German at university in the United States and spent one semester at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. At the time I went on excursions to Wittenberg – I never thought that one day I would live here.”
