Berlin (dpa) – It took a while, but the line-up of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s (CDU) ministers is now in place. It is Merkel’s fourth cabinet, and her third with the SPD. Including Merkel, it is made up of seven women and nine men, meaning there are once again slightly more men, especially as there will be no female CSU minister in Berlin. The youngest in the team is the CDU politician Jens Spahn (37), the oldest the head of the Bavarian CSU party Horst Seehofer (68). Only two members of the Cabinet are under 40, and three are already over 60. The average age is a good 51 years. On average the youngest ministers are in the SPD, the oldest in the CSU.
