London (de.de) – At a meeting in London, the countries supporting Ukraine, which include Germany, have agreed on a plan to help Ukraine get through what is expected to be a challenging winter, says UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. He explained that this included taking Russian oil and gas off global markets, supplying more long-range weapons and paving the way to using Russian assets to pay for Ukraine’s defence. Germany’s Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, who took part in the meeting via a video link, wrote afterwards on X: “We stand unshakably by Ukraine's side. The brutal attacks on people and civilian infrastructure every day make it clear just how important this is. That is why I have been discussing with our partners in the Coalition of the Willing today how we can further increase the pressure on Russia.” (with dpa)
