Brussels (dpa) – Germany’s financial contribution to the EU budget rose to a record level in 2021. According to calculations by the German Press Agency (dpa), Germany contributed around 25.1 billion euros net to the European Union’s community expenditure in 2021. “No other European economy benefits as much from the EU’s internal market as Germany’s,” states a German government website. Germany’s federal budget was around 548 billion euros in 2021. How much money an EU state pays in essentially depends on its share of the EU’s economic power.
