Recovery of German industry
An increase in industrial production can be observed in Germany. Things have been improving in the automotive industry in particular.
Wiesbaden (dpa) – Signs of an upcoming turnaround in German industry have been accumulating. A surprising rise in production could be observed in the manufacturing sector in November, with a month-on-month increase of 0.8 percent reported by the Federal Statistical Office in Wiesbaden. This was the third increase in succession. In contrast to this, analysts had been anticipating a decrease.
“The positive development in production in November 2025 was largely due to the growth that occurred in the automotive industry,” a statement said. The federal office reported a 7.8 percent increase in this sector, compared to the previous month. The mechanical engineering industry also contributed to the strong result, and the findings from the year-on-year comparison were surprisingly positive, too. Compared to the same month last year, an increase of 0.8 percent was determined for November, while analysts had expected a 1.0 percent decrease.
The figures relating to orders received in industry that were published on Thursday had also been unexpectedly strong, and economists are now hopeful that the downward trend in German industry could be coming to an end.
