Meeting of G7 foreign ministers in Germany

Münster (dpa)- The foreign ministers of the G7 countries are meeting in Germany to discuss the global consequences of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. One focus of the talks in Münster is support for Ukraine following the Russian attacks on the country’s energy supply ahead of the upcoming winter. At the same time, the G7, chaired by German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, wants to look for ways to achieve greater independence from China and Russia. The meeting will end on Friday.
The meeting will take place in the historic town hall of Münster – a place of symbolic significance. It was here that the Peace of Westphalia was negotiated more than 370 years ago; it is considered a milestone on the path to a European peace order.
We will continue to support #Ukraine as long as it takes. In the meantime, we must face up to the challenges posed by Climate, and by strategic rivals, like China.— German Embassy (@GermanyinUSA) November 2, 2022
