Combining competitiveness and climate action
The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs is funding 38 successful industrial projects that make a tangible contribution to climate action.
Berlin (d.de) – A total of 38 industrial projects involving innovative technologies have been selected for funding under the Federal Programme for Industry and Climate Action (BIK). “Climate action and competitiveness are not mutually exclusive. They go hand in hand. The funded projects deliver solutions,” said Parliamentary State Secretary Gitta Connemann.
The projects in receipt of funding span a wide range of sectors, including cement and other construction materials, chemicals, waste recycling, direct air capture of CO₂, paper and pulp, food and animal feed, petroleum products, asphalt, glass, steel, mechanical engineering, household appliances and motor vehicles. The solutions range from recycling mixed waste and binding CO₂ in concrete to hybrid heating systems.
The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs is supporting projects across Germany with around 476 million euros in funding, and the projects are expected to trigger more than 1 billion euros in private investment. The next BIK funding call is scheduled to launch as early as the beginning of 2026.
