Federal Government invites public to Open Day
This weekend those interested can take a behind-the-scenes look at federal politics in the Federal Chancellery and the various ministries.

Berlin (dpa) – The Federal Government is opening its doors in Berlin to interested members of the public. Yesterday, thousands of visitors took the opportunity to look inside the Federal Chancellery, the federal ministries and the Federal Press and Information Office, and to engage in discussion with politicians. There are numerous information stands, stages hosting panel discussions and a colourful children’s programme.
Today, too, the Federal Chancellor and ten ministers will be taking part in discussion rounds to answer guests’ questions. At 4 p.m. there will be a talk with Friedrich Merz at the Federal Chancellery, and a short while later Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil will be taking questions at the Federal Press Office. Foreign Minister Wadephul and Head of the Chancellery Frei have also announced their attendance.
At the Foreign Office, 50 stands present the work of various units and departments, along with partners from cultural relations and education policy, humanitarian aid and the Federal Foreign Office.
