MS Wissenschaft brings research on board
In 36 cities, the MS Wissenschaft exhibition ship will be revealing how research could change the future of medicine and healthcare.
Berlin (d.de) – The MS Wissenschaft exhibition ship is setting off from Berlin today on a tour of 36 cities in Germany, Poland and Austria. Forming part of Science Year 2026, the interactive exhibition’s theme is “Medicine of the Future”.
Visitors can learn about the work researchers are doing on new diagnostic procedures, cancer treatments and personalised medicine. The role of artificial intelligence in medicine and healthcare will also be explored. Around 30 hands-on exhibits give visitors the chance to test out drugs on artificial organs for themselves or take a virtual tour of an operating theatre of the future.
Germany’s Research Minister Dorothee Bär described the exhibition as a “floating science centre”. She said that research could help improve prevention, nursing care and medical treatments and introduce technical innovations into everyday life.
The exhibition is being organised by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space in cooperation with the initiative Wissenschaft im Dialog (Science in Dialogue). The MS Wissenschaft will be touring through Germany and visiting a number of cities in Poland and Austria until October. Admission to the exhibition ship is free.
