Her move from the cosmetics business to the car industry in 2013 already caused quite a stir – and since then Tina Müller’s activities as Chief Marketing Officer at Adam Opel AG have been under very close scrutiny. In record time Müller gave the traditional car manufacturer a fresh image. As she put it to Saal Zwei, the online business magazine: “I also consider marketing to be a driving force within the company when it comes to producing new and better products. It goes without saying that everyone wants to develop the best car, but paying attention to customers’ wishes is also important – as is ensuring they are realised.”

She is obviously doing this very successfully at Opel. The surprising advertising campaign that Müller initiated with the slogan “Umparken im Kopf” (Repark your mind) plays cleverly with clichés and quickly became a topic of conversation all over Germany, thanks also to prominent brand ambassadors like soccer manager Jürgen Klopp and actress Karoline Herfurth. Tina Müller knows what counts: “In the development process, marketing is the voice of the customer.”
