Conference on sustainable development in Hamburg
1,600 international experts attend the Hamburg Sustainability Conference (HSC).

Hamburg (d.de) - Around 1,600 experts from more than 110 countries are meeting in Hamburg on 2 and 3 June with a view to forging alliances for sustainable development and accelerating implementation of the UN’s 2030 Agenda. At the Hamburg Sustainability Conference (HSC), high-ranking representatives of politics, science, business, civil society and international organisations will be searching for solutions to the most pressing global challenges. Shortly before the start of the conference, German Development Minister Reem Alabali-Radovan said: “The international challenges are greater than ever before - so international cooperation has to be stronger than ever before.”
This year’s conference will focus on three core areas: reform of the international financial architecture, new investments aimed at achieving the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and transformation processes in key sectors, including mobility and logistics, global health, biodiversity and digitisation. The conference is a joint initiative of Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg and the Michael Otto Foundation.
